Day 100 – Sustainable Fashion: The 100 Day Dress Challenge

I embarked on a quest to wear one dress for 100 days, exactly that many days ago. One of my goals was to dress more sustainably by building a capsule wardrobe around a single dress. I accomplished this goal and so many more. Here’s a list of 10 takeaways from this challenge.

Day 2 – Sustainable Fashion: The 100-Day Dress Challenge

This was day 2 of my 100-day dress challenge. One thing I quickly remembered was that I’m messy. So, an apron is necessary when spending any time in the kitchen if I want to keep my dress clean. Read on for more of what I learned!

Sustainable Fashion: The 100-Day Dress Challenge

After four years, I’m going to embark on a new adventure or, rather, continue an adventure I paused a few years ago. I’ll be rejoining the banking industry. After working as a college professor and writer for several years, my business casual wardrobe needed a refresh. In a desire to reduce my contributions to the fast fashion problem and to simplify my life, I’ll be creating a capsule wardrobe built around this merino wool dress for the next 100-days (notably, this is not a sponsored activity – it’s all on my dime).

Banana Bread with Brown Sugar and Walnuts

Baking banana bread with brown sugar and walnuts is a great way to make use of ripe bananas. It yields two loaves and can be served warm out of the oven in about an hour. If you can’t eat both loaves within a week, it freezes well for enjoyment at a later date.

Chicken Florentine Soup for the Slow Cooker

This creamy chicken and spinach soup is quick to prepare, and takes about six to eight hours to cook in a slow cooker set on low. It’s good for serving a crowd of 12 or meal prepping. Not only does this chicken florentine soup make for an easy grab-and-go lunch, but it also freezes well.
